The paving of the roadway and the pouring of the sidewalks for the entirety of the Route 1A Road Reconstruction Project has been completed. Crosswalks, street furniture and ornamental street lights have also been installed. Outside of a small number of locations, line painting is complete as well. The vast majority of street signs have also been installed. Traffic lights and pedestrian lights have been installed and most are activated. The final lights, specifically at or near the Gloucester Crossing intersection, will be activated with the completion of final rail improvements on the track north of the Beverly Depot. Thank you businesses, residents and visitors for your resilience and support during this very important road project.
Upon completion of the Rantoul/1A Reconstruction project, the newly paved streets will not be permitted to be dug/opened for FIVE years. Therefore, if there is any pending underground utility work to be performed it must be completed prior to completion of the reconstruction project. Click here for examples
